GEOS

GEOS (Graphic Environment Operating System) is a discontinued operating system developed by Berkeley Softworks. It was designed for 8-bit computers, notably the Commodore 64 and Apple II, offering a graphical user interface (GUI) in an era when text-based interfaces were dominant on these platforms.

GEOS provided a suite of integrated applications, including a word processor (geoWrite) and a paint program (geoPaint), making it suitable for home users and small businesses seeking a more intuitive computing experience. Its design aimed to bring the usability of Macintosh-like interfaces to less powerful hardware.
